The Art Department at The University of Arkansas is a vibrant, progressive program that is committed to art in the community, the state and beyond. I was lucky enough to get to work with them to design an identity that communicated more than simply the education of art students. The idenity aims to establish the University of Arkansas as a leader in educating artists and promotes the department’s best characteristics to potential students and the regional and national community. The identity is made up of 2 components: the type and the mark. These components and other brand visual language elements work together to express the characteristics of the department: diverse, forward-thinking, approachable, innovative and nurturing.
